This Gallery captures some of Northwest Montana at it's chilliest best. click the picture below to open the photograph in a slide show. All photographs are available from Photographer Patrick Booth.
The bulk of this Gallery was photographed in January 2010 with temperatures dipping to minus 11 below zero in Glacier National Park & a balmy 6 degrees above zero in Lakeside Montana. Our blog-Moose or no Moose captures the whole morning photo shoot as I pack two cameras-a Nikon & a Canon, both with several lenses and a couple tripods. The funny thing about severe cold is that you really don't appreciate just how dangerous and cold minus 11 is until your physically trying to get your body to work as well as camera gear. Everything takes time. We also have seen a lot of Eagles both golden & bald, young & mature in the past few months that it really is amazing-we spotted two last year for the whole 2009 season and this year I have seen one at least every other day for the month of January. to read the blog click the news page link above.
